Show Cause Hearings

Frequently, clients with open family court cases (divorces, paternities, etc.) are faced with potential charges of crimes such as assault and battery, breaking and entering, restraining order (209A) violations, and other similar matters. We represent our clients at these hearings if it is the type of case we feel we can adequately handle. If we feel the client is best served by another attorney due to the nature of the charges, we refer clients to one of several criminal defense attorneys with whom we work closely to ensure that pending or potential criminal law matters have as little effect on open family court cases as possible. If a client is called as a witness for a show cause hearing, we always attend the hearing with our client.
