Restraining Orders / 209A Abuse Protection

Restraining Orders are civil orders that carry heavy criminal penalties for violation but also show up on the CORI/CARI checks that are frequently required for employment, school volunteering, and other situations. We regularly represent both Plaintiffs and Defendants in these matters in the Probate and Family Court and District Court. Often these are current clients who face the need to obtain a Restraining Order or defend against one, but just as often these are clients who do not have another court case pending.
